    Construction Specialties, Inc. is a leading supplier of architectural building products. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Project Manager to manage projects within the post order process of our Interior Wall Protection (IWP) Business Unit located in Hughesville, PA.
    The Project Manager Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated special projects to ensure that goals and objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing duties personally or through assigned support personnel. Primary responsibility for projects to actual shipment through communication with sales manager, representative, architect, and/or contractor. Supervises and works with assigned personnel in preparing clear, complete accurate working plans and detailed drawings. Ensures that customers receive the highest sales service possible and scheduling dates are achieved through coordination with other departments as required.


    - Plans and formulates program requirements and organizes project staff according to project requirements.
    - Assigns project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, data base pricing, and product testing.
    - Supervises, coordinates, provides leadership to and reviews work of personnel assigned to specific projects.
    - Estimates personnel needs, plans, organizes and schedules work load, assigns work, instructs and assists staff to meet completion dates. Arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel where necessary.
    - Develops and implements work methods, and controls expenditures within limitations of project budget. Assures adherence to departmental procedures.
    - Ensures that work groups have necessary resources to complete requirements. Helps facilitate the group process both in meetings and in daily operations. Provides feedback and coaching for assigned staff. Develops individual department members and the entire group in group process, team dynamics, basic quality tools, and problem solving models and techniques.
    - Guides work group problem solving process toward continuous improvement of quality and productivity measures and expediently advises groups of any organizational changes that may affect their processes. Orients new members of departments. Ensures that department goals are pertinent and clear to all. Helps group reach consensus of key issues.
    - Acts as liaison with other departments, units or organizations. Builds rapport with other organizations and individuals critical to the completion of the assigned project.
    - Collaborates with and assists Research and Development and Engineering to devise and determine special customer installations and adaptations. Provides technical information to Sales, Manufacturing and R&D.
    - Coordinates and converses with Production Department, R&D, Sales technical person, to ensure accuracy and final fabrication of project requirements.
    - Confers with Sales Manager and Technical Services Manager, Engineering, Manufacturing, et al to obtain information to service problem inquiries or obtain technical engineering data relative to product design and application.
    - Evaluates design changes, specifications, and develops costing for pricing purposes.
    - Reviews drawings returned by customers for correction; provides estimates for job value, drawing time, delivery dates, reports drawing completion.
    - Responsible for, or checks, drawings for correctness, dimensions, showing all necessary details, section use, and coordinates the release to production. Supervises assigned personnel in preparing or altering drawings of new designs, modifications, changes, special products, etc.
    - Creates written requests for clarification on specific questions relating to submittal drawings and for purchase of special products as required for fabrication.
    - Reviews architectural change proposals, requests for information, and addenda drawings for effect on scope of work.
    - Creates sample requests for specific project requirements.
    - Answers specific or general technical questions from architects, contractors, and representatives relative to the assigned project.
    - Travels to project sites to resolve or answer concerns regarding installation, drawings or product usage. Travels to contractors or architect project sites to aid Sales in potential work.
    - Authorizes customer returns and replacements on problem orders.
    - Determines need for and charge for change order adds/deducts to contracts and advises customer/rep in oral and written form of reason extra dollars are required - follows through for written acceptance. Advises customers of order changes as to shipping and delivery dates, prices, adjustments or other conditions.
    - Receives and answers telephone requests for shipping/delivery information from customers.
    - Achieves and maintains rapport with customers and endeavors to give them the best possible services. Retrieves customer information, stock status information and the status of orders.
    - Insures that correct codes are used for retrieving and inputting information. Follows up on inquiries by checking computer runs or CRT for delivery information. Works closely with Production regarding deliveries of scheduled shipments. Maintains close liaison with other departments to carry order through to completion.
    - Works with customers to offer alternatives to unresolvable problems.
    - Through investigations, analyses and evaluation of activities, policies, methods and techniques, assists the Technical Services Manager in the development and formulation of revised procedures and programs designed to improve performance of the Interior Wall Protection Group.
    - Confers with Manager of Interior Wall Protection Services on unusual problems.
    - Prepares interim and completion project report. Prepares status reports concerning departmental activities and work in progress as required.


    - Associates degree plus 3-5 years Project Management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    - Experience in Building Products or the Construction industry required.
    - Knowledge of architectural market and how to work with contractors.
    - Knowledge of construction and fabrication methods.
    - Complete and thorough knowledge of estimating procedures, pricing, discounting, and developing cost data bases. Knowledge of sales procedures. Blueprint reading.
    - Supervisory methods.  Demonstrated ability to lead others.
    - Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
    - Advanced math skills.
    - Computer literacy, specifically in Excel spreadsheets.
